It is always cheaper to fly out of New Orleans than Jackson. When I was making summer travel plans, I booked the cheapest flight out of New Orleans, which happened to be leaving New Orleans at 6:45 this morning. My roommate had agreed to drive me, but neither of us were interested in leaving Jackson at 1:00 a.m. and driving three hours through Mississippi and Louisiana in the middle of the night. Instead, we got some friends together, found an AirBnB, and made a weekend of it. Each of us picked something that we wanted to do in New Orleans – a swamp tour, jazz mass, and for me, eating alligator.
It was good, and I’m glad that I tried something new.
