About Me

I’m Samantha! I’m a director of operations at a charter high school in Nashville, Tennessee. I’m an alumni of the Teach for America Graduate Fellows Program at Delta State University, where I started a creative writing after school club and earned my M.A. in Elementary Education in 2019. I’m an alum of Teach for America, where I served as a first grade teacher the 2016 corps, in Jackson, Mississippi. I graduated from Western Michigan University with a B.A. in Public Relations in 2016, where I worked as the Editor-in-Chief of the Western Herald, coordinated social media for the Communication and Social Robotics Labs, and helped to start a robotics program in Waldo Library. At WMU, I was also involved with Wesley of Kalamazoo, where I worked as the PR Coordinator. Previously, I’ve interned at Motown Mission and Metropolis Magazine.

I have been blogging on a variety of topics since 2007. This blog features the archived posts from Fifteen-Seventeen, a blog that I started in 2012 to cover art and design.
