SiTE:LAB Workflow (and Chairmania!)

SiTE:LAB Workflow happened on Friday night at the old public museum, 54 Jefferson.
It was fantastic.  It was awesome.  I am so happy that I was able to be a part of it.

The Chairmania exhibit that my Collaborative Projects class worked on went really well.  We worked hard on it, and it was so amazing to see it all come together.

I’d also like to congratulate Phil Renato’s class, who made an exhibit about 3D scanning and printing artifacts from the Public Museum’s collection. I think this is such an interesting way to engage with the artifacts, and bring them into public attention.  Before Friday, I had never seen the process of 3D scanning, so that was interesting to learn about as well.

Not Design was involved with SiTE:LAB Workflow, bringing their presses and letterpress posters.  Citizenshirt shared a space with them, printing shirts as souvenirs from the night.  Dinderbeck had some great work up, I wanted to steal their playing card prints (but I didn’t.  Self control.) And I know that I’m forgetting twenty or thirty more people who had work up.  Thank you to everyone who worked to make this happen.
I’m amazed by what people can do.

As I write this, I’m checking twitter for updates about what’s happening at the Boston Marathon.  It sounds really awful, and my heart goes out to everyone affected.
